Corporate Social Responsibility: Team Dette visits Bahay Tuluyan
30/7/2016Axiem Corporation is a strong advocate of giving back to the community and, as such, schedules a monthly visit to a children’s shelter in Victoria, Laguna, Philippines called Bahay Tuluyan.
Bahay Tuluyan is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides a variety of programs and services aimed at preventing and responding to the abuse and exploitation of children in the Philippines.
In July, the team of Bernadette Bombase (TL Dette), together with Daryl Gaudiel from the Vixen team travelled south to deliver pre-loved clothes and near new shoes to the kids at the shelter.
The entire Axiem team were warmly welcomed by the kids and volunteers of Bahay Tuluyan. They were given a short briefing on the shelter’s guidelines and house rules. The program then started with an opening prayer followed by opening remarks by Daryl Gaudiel of the Vixen team.
Volunteers prepared song and dance presentations to entertain the kids. A coloring booklet and pen was awarded to the most energetic child in the group. The Axiem team provided art materials and taught the kids to create Do-It-Your-Own Photo booth props.
Axiems volunteers shared lunch with the kids of Bahay Tuluyan after their artistic activities. After lunch, the kids accompanied their visitors on a guided tour of the shelter; the kids led the group from their offices to their gardens where they plant their crops and animal pens where they keep their poultry to the houses where they live and sleep.

Every visit in Bahay Tuluyan reminds us of our purpose to share and spread love to everyone – kids and kids at heart alike. We are extremely grateful and privileged that we have employees who share the same ideologies as the company.
